Investment Objective
The Fund has a policy to invest predominantly in units of an overseas mutual fund (the “Master Fund”), with an average exposure of not less than 80% of the Fund’s Net Asset Value (NAV) over an accounting period. The Fund invests in the AB International Health Care Portfolio, a U.S. Dollar (USD)-denominated fund that focuses on investments in the global healthcare sector.
Investment Policy
The Fund has a policy to invest primarily in units of a foreign collective investment scheme (the “Master Fund”), with an average investment of not less than 80% of its total Net Asset Value (NAV) during an accounting period. The Master Fund in which the Fund invests is AB International Health Care Portfolio – Class I USD, denominated in U.S. Dollars (USD). The Master Fund is domiciled in Luxembourg and managed by AllianceBernstein (Luxembourg) S.? r.l. The Master Fund’s investment objective is to invest at least 80% of its total assets, and no less than two-thirds of its assets, in equity securities of companies operating in the healthcare and healthcare-related sectors worldwide, including companies located in emerging markets, and may invest across a broad range of currencies. Master Fund Investment Strategy The AB International Health Care Portfolio employs a combination of fundamental analysis and quantitative analysis in its investment process. The investment manager seeks to identify companies with strong long-term growth potential, high returns on invested capital, robust free cash flow generation, and attractive valuations. The Master Fund places particular emphasis on companies that are expected to benefit from developments in the healthcare sector, including innovative treatment and therapeutic solutions, as well as providers of healthcare products and services that enhance efficiency and reduce healthcare costs for customers. The Master Fund may invest in derivative instruments for hedging purposes, including but not limited to swaps, and for efficient portfolio management. Derivative exposure may represent up to 25% of the Master Fund’s total assets. The Master Fund may also, on a temporary basis, invest up to 100% of its total assets in cash, cash equivalents, and/or short-term instruments for liquidity management purposes. In addition, the Master Fund incorporates Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations into its investment process. The Management Company reserves the right to change the share class and/or investment currency of the Master Fund, as deemed appropriate for efficient portfolio management and in accordance with the Fund’s investment objectives. Any such change shall be undertaken with due regard to the best interests of unitholders and shall be deemed approved by the unitholders. Other Investments of the Fund The remaining portion of the Fund’s assets may be invested, both domestically and internationally, in deposits, deposit-like instruments, debt securities, equity securities, hybrid securities, warrants, and/or other securities, assets, or investment opportunities as permitted under the Fund’s prospectus and applicable regulations approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC). The Fund may enter into derivative transactions for efficient portfolio management and/or foreign exchange risk hedging, at the discretion of the fund manager. The extent of currency hedging will depend on prevailing market conditions and other relevant factors, including economic, political, monetary, and fiscal developments. If the fund manager expects the U.S. Dollar (USD) to depreciate, the Fund may implement a relatively high level of foreign exchange hedging. Conversely, if the U.S. Dollar is expected to appreciate, the Fund may reduce its hedging ratio or may choose not to hedge its foreign currency exposure. However, where the fund manager determines that foreign exchange hedging may not be in the best interests of unitholders, the Fund may elect not to hedge such exposure. Investors should note that hedging transactions may involve costs, which could reduce the Fund’s overall returns. In addition, the Fund may invest in or hold structured notes, non-investment-grade debt securities, unrated debt securities, and unlisted securities. The Fund may also engage in reverse repurchase transactions (Reverse Repo), securities lending transactions, and/or other investments or income-generating arrangements permitted under the Fund’s prospectus and applicable SEC regulations. The Fund may invest up to 20% of its Net Asset Value (NAV) in units of mutual funds, property funds, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and/or infrastructure funds managed by the Management Company. In the case of investments in property funds and infrastructure funds, the Fund may invest up to 20% of the total units outstanding of the underlying fund. Such investments must comply with the Fund’s investment policy and the rules and conditions prescribed by the Office of the SEC. The underlying fund may not invest back into the Fund (circle investment) and may not further invest in another fund managed by the same asset management company (cascade investment).
